Steve Brookstein

Steve Brookstein

About steve brookstein I've been writing and singing for many years and I'vebeen involved with a number of record labels. In 1996MCA signed me to their dance label and had Judge JulesRecord Of The Week. In 2000, my production companysigned two female artists to major deals in the USA(Colombia) and UK (Innocent/Virgin). I was signed toEMI Publishing but me big break came as a singer whenin December 2004 I won The X Factor with a staggering5.5 million votes. Sadly things didn't work out afterI fell out with Simon Cowell but I guess things happenfor a reason.

Over the years I'm lucky enough to have duetted withBeBe Winans and Maxi Priest and supported DionneWarwick. I've played great venues from the East HamSocial Club to the 606 Club and Wembley. I've done allthe many classic TV shows like Top Of The Pops(twice), CD:UK and Paul O'Grady Show. The FrankSkinner Show was a good laugh and doing The WrightStuff was always a big favourite. I guess prime timeTV on Saturday night to 10 million was quite nice! Ilove to sing and write but I also love quiet timeswith my family and friends. I never saw myself as apop star and I'm glad things have calmed down sincethose heady heights of 2005, though I'm glad I havehad a number one album! I did enjoy the classic oldsoul numbers but it would be nice to have success withmy own songs too. It is something that would neverhappen with Mr Cowell. I'm also involved in my wife'sjazz album which has been an absolute joy. Pleasecheck out stevebrookstein.com

Connie is best known for being the little 6 year old with the gap in her teeth who stole everyones hearts. Connie has been singing since she was about 18 months old. She first started when her gran was ill with cancer and she would spend hours singing to her and making her happy. After seeing Simon Cowell in Africa on American Idol she decided that if she was to win she would like to donate all the money to the kids in Africa. She managed to acheive two of those wishes after touching the heart of Simon Cowell and the nation as a whole. Connie has never had any singing lessons so you can truly say that she has a 100% natural God given talent. Her voice has so many different ranges and can throw her hand at any song she wishes. Connie is destined for brilliant things in the years to come so keep youreyes open for her. Thank you so much for your support so far and all the votes throughout the competition.

Cloudfish

Cloudfish

Cloudfish are Steve Norman, founder member of Spandau Ballet (True, Gold, Through The Barricades) and Shelley Preston of Bucks Fizz (My Camera Never Lies, Land Of Make Believe, New Beginning), two of the most successful and well known pop groups of the 80’s.

Steve and Shelley met in 2001 whilst on the Hadley, Norman & Keeble tour. Originally, Cloudfish was production and songwriting duo, Steve Norman and Rafa Peletey based in Ibiza. In 2002, Shelley was invited to work on one of their songs and to provide the vocals. From this point on Cloudfish became a band with Steve, Shelley and Rafa writing and producing their own songs. In 2003, Rafa left to front his own band. Steve and Shelley continued writing and producing their particular brand of funky lounge music which was influenced by their time spent in Ibiza. Most of 2004 was taken up with them working with Quintessenza, Cloudfish are featured artists on their eponymous CD (which was co-produced by Steve). They also performed a number of shows and promoted the album in Italy with Quintessenza during 2005 and early 2006.

Cloudfish sold out a number of gigs in 2006 including the legendary Ronnie Scots in Soho, attended by various music industry friends including Steve’s band mate, Gary Kemp, who made a point of telling the band how much he loved their reworking of Spandau Ballet ‘s True.

For the past 3 years the song So High has been used extensively on Australian Radio. It is also included on the CD compilation Dome- Ibiza. Their track In My Space has had airplay on various UK, Italian and Ibiza radio stations.

Earlier this year, Steve and Shelley returned to Ibiza to write 6 new tracks which they will record for their first album early in the new year. Cloudfish have a 5 track CD of their early material available to buy from their personal websites. They normally perform live with a full band a mixture of self-penned songs and well-loved jazz standards such as Beat Goes On, Paris In The Springtime, Let There Be Love in the Cloudfish style.

They have been described as “chilled pop electronica”…”haunting vocal harmonies and smooth sax over blissed out grooves”.

Cloudfish are very pleased to be performing at ‘Pop 4 Diabetes’ this year, particularly as Shelley’s father has type 2 diabetes and will be attending the event.
